Ashkal L’histoire

Dans un des bâtiments des Jardins de Carthage, quartier de Tunis créé par l’ancien régime mais dont la construction a été brutalement stoppée au début de la révolution, deux flics, Fatma et Batal, découvrent un corps calciné. Alors que les chantiers reprennent peu à peu, ils commencent à se pencher sur ce cas mystérieux. Quand un incident similaire se produit, l’enquête prend un tour déconcertant.

In the Gardens of Carthage, a district of Tunis initiated by the former Regime which construction stopped at the beginning of the Revolution, two cops, Fatma and Batal, find a burnt body in one of the lots. As construction slowly resumes, they start looking into this mysterious case. When the event repeats itself, the investigation takes a puzzling turn.

Le réalisateur Youssef Chebbi

Youssef Chebbi est né en Tunisie en 1984. Après avoir fait des études d’arts, il a réalisé deux courts métrages, VERS LE NORD et LES PROFONDEURS, sélectionnés dans différents festivals internationaux. En 2012, il a coréalisé le documentaire BABYLON (prix du jury au FIDMarseille, présenté au MoMA). ASHKAL est son premier long métrage.
