Thomas Djoman est originaire du village Atchan appelé Anan dans la commune de Bingerville. Il se retrouve au village quelques années après son admission au brevet de technicien supérieur. Un jour alors qu'il s'y attend le moins, le roi et sa cour lui annoncent qu'il est désigné pour assurer la fonction de griot. Plusieurs réflexions après il accepte ce choix fait sur sa personne. Une cérémonie qui n'avait plus lieu depuis plus d'un demi siècle est organisée pour sa consécration. · Thomas Djoman is originally from the village of Atchan called Anan in the commune of Bingerville.
